I have been admiring your galleries tonight, Lisa. I have to weigh in on this one after seeing the other comments. My guess is that this is a juvenile Cooper's Hawk. All the jiz goes together including the fact that it is sitting on top of a bird house! Great shot and I love the red leaves for the splash of color!

Hi Lisa...........I did some research for you and found out this is an adult Sharp-Shinned Hawk. Beautiful aren't they. You really show him off well here. Vote :)

Lisa, I think this is a juvenal Red-shouldered Hawk.
