Sleepy Porcupine

Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge

This not so little guy had been napping in a pine tree when I noticed him from about 60 yards away. He woke up at the sound of my footsteps in the dry grass and brush beneath him.

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM
1/60s f/11.0 at 400.0mm iso400 I did use flash but set ambient exp to -2 to try and darken the overcast sky. Note sure why the Exif says flash was not used? full exif
