Sculptor Galaxy Deep Field - 2013 Astronomy Photographer of the Year

This is a deep field image of the Galaxy NGC 253 in Sculptor.
The image reveals the very rarely captured faint outer halo of NGC 253, Milky Way galactic cirrus dust and thousands of distant back ground galaxies can be seen all over the field.
