In most images of this field size (1.6deg X 1.2deg) Centaurus A would appear as a small circular
eliptical galaxy in the centre of the frame. This enhanced view reveals the massive size of the
galaxy in visible light. This image also highlights the extensive but faint (27mag/square arc sec)
Galactic Cirrus nebulosity. The galaxy is revealed to cover a wopping 1.4deg X 1.0deg in this image!
