Centaurus A taken 31 years apart

The image on the left was taken by myself and Attila Horvath back in 1984 with a Celestron 5 SCT
using a home built cold camera and black and white film, the scope and camera were mounted piggyback
on the Oddie Refractor at Mt Stromlo Observatory.

The image on the right was taken recently by myself (and incredibly with Attila present on second
night of imaging!!) with similarly advanced amateur imaging equipment for 2015

With only a modest difference in scope size and a similar focal length, the difference in image quality is rather staggering!

other sizes: small medium large original auto
