12/03/2008 - The Department of Fire Services held the annual Firefighter of the Year Awards at Faneuil Hall in Boston. Firefighters from the departments of Beverly, Boston, Falmouth, Hull, Swampscott, Gloucester, Saugus, Fall River, Hyannis, Rockland, Stoughton, Everett, Brookline and Milton received awards. Special awards were also given to James Shannon, the president of the NFPA, as well as to the Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial Board of Directors.
