08/09/2012 - On the afternoon of Thursday, August 9th, 2012 at approximately 1615 hours the East Bridgewater Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 20 Chestnut Street. Car-1, Acting Chief Timothy Harhen signed off with nothing showing from a two story wood frame occupied duplex. Upon inspection, a fire was found in the oven, extending to the cabinets in the occupancy in the bravo side of the building. Engine-3 arrived on-scene and stretched a pre-connect in through the front door. The fire was quickly contained and knocked down. Tower-1 was advised to continue to the scene to assist in overhaul operations. Companies remained on-scene for approximately an hour while the fire was overhauled and the scene was secured. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
