04/25/2012 - Around 1715 hours on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 25, 2012 the Hanson Fire Department responded to a reported person trapped under a car at 318 West Washington Street. Rescue-1 and Ambulance-1 responded, along with the police department. Companies arrived to find a motorcycle rider that apparently lost control of their motocycle along a sharp curve on West Washington Street, drove off the road and crashed. When the rider came to rest, they were stuck under a parked car in the driveway of 318 West Washington Street. The airbags were requested to extricate the rider who was trapped under the vehicle. Ultimately, the Jaws-of-Life were used to lift the vehicle just enough to get the victim freed from under the car. Boston MedFlight was requested to transport the victim due to the extent of the injuries. The landing zone at the Ridder Golf Course was used. Whitman Engine-2 took command at the landing zone. The cause and the actual time of the accident are currently under investigation by the Hanson Police Department. The Plymouth County Sheriffs Department BCI unit was requested to assist in the investigation. The Massachusetts State Police were also on the scene.
