04/16/2007 Brockton Fire responded to calls of smoke coming from the roof of a vacant commercial building on Westgate Drive. Companies found fire in a air conditioning unit on the roof. The fire was gas fed and extended to the roof and roofing materials. The fire was knocked down quickly. One firefighter was transported to the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a ground ladder was blown off the roof by a strong gust of wind, and struck him in the head and shoulder.
