03/31/2007 Whitman Police initiated a traffic stop on School Street and when the officer got out of his cruiser, the vehicle fled. A short chase followed, sending Whitman cruisers from School Street to Route 18, to Glen Street and Dover Street and back onto School Street. Police were able to get the vehicle stopped in the yard of a home on School Street near Burton Avenue. A short foot chase occured and the suspect was caught on Meadown Lane.
