02/25/2015 - NORWELL, MASSACHUSETTS (PLYMOUTH COUNTY) - Around 1300 hours on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 25, 2015 the Norwell Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 473 Prospect Street. Companies arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a two-story wood frame dwelling. A working fire was requested bringing Hingham and Rockland engines to the scene, and a Hanover engine to cover. Crews made an interior attack with a hand line and found a kitchen fire. The fire was quickly knocked down. Crews opened up and overhauled and were ventilating smoke from the house. No one was reportedly home at the time the fire broke out. Firefighters that tied into the hydrant that was near the home needed to negotiate an approximately four foot high snow bank. The hydrant was also set off of the road. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
