01/23/2010 - A passing by Brockton Police Officer called in this working fire as he heard a cry for help as he passed by 104 Newbury Street around 1830 hours. Car-56 signed off with a working fire reporting smoke and fire showing. Companies made an aggressive interior attack, but were driven back by heavy fire on the third floor of the multi-family home. Crews backed out and went to exterior operations, setting up two ladder pipes and several hand lines to knock down the fire. Two occupants and two firefighters suffered reported minor injuries. At the same time, Brockton firefighters worked at 11 Fern Circle, battling a chimney fire.
