01/08/2010 - Around 0240 hours East Bridgewater emergency crews responded to Bedford Street (Route-18) near Cottage Street for a reported motor vehicle accident. When companies arrived they found a single vehicle on its side, off the road and into a tree. The single occupant, an approximately 24-year old male was trapped. The OIC requested an additional set of jaws from Bridgewater to respond. Bridgewater Engine-3 responded to assist. Boston MedFlight was requested. Due to the prolonged extrication time the MedFlight crew met companies on the scene of the accident. After approximately one and a half hours the patient was extricated and brought to the landing zone where he was flown to a Boston hospital for treatment.
