Thanks for the kind words Denise! Well, I don't think I'm a master at pp but I do enjoy it :) I use Photoshop but recently I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Elements, just to see what it was all about. I found out about something in Elements that I know you can put to good use and I'd like to explain. If it's okay, I'll email you later.

Holy Moly, you are amazing Bottles!!!!!You didn't notice the asterisk because I forgot to put one there ;-)) Okay, your changes are wonderful. It may take the rest of my life to figure out how to do what you did!!! But I will attempt it. I am still working as a "film" photographer, I haven't made that leap yet to what you can do with a photo after it is taken. I am composing in the camera, my images are almost never cropped, what you see, is what I got. Didn't compose in the camera with more sky because I couldn't get the colors of the trees right. Truly I am amazed at what you did. Adding sky, clouds, never in a million years would that have occurred to me.

The question is when and how do you make that leap from film to digital photographer?? I think I will start a thread on the forum. Thanks again, you are a master with PP as far as I am concerned and please keep that info coming.

Denise, I didn't notice the asterisk when I viewed this image the first time. I do have a suggestion for this image but please keep in mind that any critique offered by me, or anyone else, is really just a matter of personal preference. This image is beautiful just the way it is! That said, I thought a little more sky might help and I've put an example in the Demo folder. If your original didn't show more sky, then of course you'd have to use post processing. Here's a link to the Demo folder...http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/challenge_109_demo

Beautiful Denise; I really like the various shades of yellow and orange that blend so well together. With the trees in the foreground and the rock formations in the background, the image really has lots of depth. Very nice indeed.

mexiwolf, It is indeed. All I did was sharpen and resize this photo. Hope Valley is an amazing spot in the Sierra on the way to Lake Tahoe. The aspens change color at different times so if you miss one grove in color, you will catch the next one.
