The old, moodily lit thingy - just had to it.

This is a nice one Arn, the warm tones set the mood for a nice relaxing cup of coffee.
Great idea. Linda L.

A question by Mark J and my answer seem to have mysteriously disappeared from this comments thread(?) -Arn-

Looks like Arn old (he he) pieced this image together VERY nicely! By listening to others and keeping an open mind to what they had to say, you've had the opportunity to learn and have fun... while creating a great image! One can have the greatest camera money can buy but, if the photographer is too stubborn to learn, the camera is of no use. Mark J

Fantastic to see how an image keeps on developing with the comments and discussions about it. That is what it is all about. Great stuff. Willem

There! Finally.. I think this counts as four images from me... :D Very much thank you for having the patience to critique the process. Funny thing is, I tried the same thing with two different logos in the same place before this and they didn't work, but I think this one does. -Arn-

I don't mind, quite the opposite... I actually tried a gazillion different variations, sizes, colors, positions and types of that logo. They seemed to argue more with the picture than this one hard to get them balanced with each other (the smaller they were, the more they annoyed me...) It's still possible though, that I try some other solution and repost yet again... (I wonder if somebody is already peeved by this constant updating... :)

Hey Arn, if you don't mind more comments from me . . . by itself, the logo is superb, but it's a bit too prominent for the picture. Perhaps smaller and a bottom corner? Or perhaps just adding "Arnold's" to the beginning or end of the tag line. JoeSchmoe

*squeeze* I dont't know if I improved it or made it worse, but since I racked my brain for that thing, I decided to keep that stamped logo there anyway! I found out that It's not neccessarily so easy to design these, if you don't work in the advertising / graphic design business... Well, in the process I learned some things that I haven't done in PS before, so it wasn't all for nothing in any case :) -Arn-

Yes, I was thinking about a name / logo, but I just couldn't fit it anywhere.. Somehow there wasn't enough space - it seemed to destroy the balance of the thing. I might add it later, if find a way to squeeze it somewhere...
Sony Forums Challenges18-Jul-2003 15:01
Yes, I like this modified image much better. Now I do want to come for a "cuppa"! One further suggestion . . . the name of a place or product? JoeSchmoe
Sony Forums Challenges18-Jul-2003 09:31
Yes, agree, good you removed the rod as well. Now when do I get my coffee, I am relaxed already now. Willem
Sony Forums Challenges18-Jul-2003 07:59
Thanks a bunch for the suggestion Willem! I did the cropping you suggested and it sure IS better this way. I was actually hurrying a little to get this out, so that no one else would "beat" me to this cafeteria theme... I posted it at 4.30 am and went to sleep, my artistic vision was propably a bit clouded at the time too... *Now* that I look at the image, the cropping was such an *obvious* thing to do... ;) Had to remove that rod extruding from the cup, too. -Arn-

Very moody indeed. Good expression of atmosphere and invitation to come in and relax. I would suggest to go one step further and crop out the bright light, makes it even more peacefull. (try scrolling the pbase window down and you can see the effect) Willem
