Great contrast to perfectly bring out the slihouettes, Yanny. I think the "monochromatic" look of the light show draws more attention to the silhouettes here. Nice composition too. MFC
Thank you! Ann, it's just one photo. I don't have the EXIF info anymore, I used Photoshop 6 at the time and it got rid of it when I saved it. This was one of my first photos since I got into digital. I bought my Oly D-40Z on the 29th of June 2002 and this was shot 5 days later. Just to say I didn't really know what to do :) I just remember putting the camera on the floor on the side of the roof where I was and used the mini-remote to shoot it, the fireworks did not come out great on this one but I liked the way you could really see the people on the roof across the street. That was in Brooklyn.
Yanny, I like how instead of the colorful aspect of fireworks here you've shown the pure power of the light bursts take center stage. I think that's set off well with the use of silhouette. - Ro
This is great Yanny. Is it two images combined? If it's one I'm amazed you got the people sharp and the fireworks bright. Usually you have to have a long exposure to catch fireworks. Good one. Ann C
