Hi Bill, well also thought this was a great shot. i come from a part in the world where everyone is trying to escape paying, some of us are paying for the people that do not. Here a great trick is to put a strong magnet next to the meter, that apparently does slow it down ( have not personnaly tried ) :-))

Thanks Jo. Actually costing me money and making lots for the local hydro electric company. In fact, because of an incorrect reading by the meter reader, our bill was about $60 higher for a two month period than it should have been and that is what really brought our attention to it....other than the fact that we often see the little wheel spinning faster than we think it should be. Anyway, it all worked out with the last bill being an equal amount lower. As in the USA, our meters are all on the outside and for the photo I had to wash off the algae as the meter is on the North side of our house. Thanks for your interest. Bill

Is it making money for you Bill or for the CGE? Good thinking and very nicely executed. I heard or saw somewhere that these meters were on the outside of the house i the USA. Is that also true for Canada? We in the Netherlands have the gas/electricity and water meters inside the house.

Hi ..Cant add much to what Bottles says. This one hit me between the eyes ... all the more so because it is part of my everyday life and yet I never think of it until the bill. And now I'm thinking in a literally new light! All the best

A clever take on the challenge Bill, one that I would never have thought of :-) A simple idea very well executed!
