A bit of HDRish treatment, then enhancing the details a lot, b/w and a bit of contrast. Normally this one could very well stay in color, but for me it works. :-)
I see what you mean that it COULD have stayed in colour .. I can almost guess the colours I woud have seen. And I thik that's what gives this pic a special beauty ... it is obvious that it did not NEED to be in colur to get rid of distraction. Having said that ... it just smacked me in the face that BW here has given a LEVELLING of grain-status between teh wood slats and the vegetables ... The grass is most defiitely a FRAME to the picture ... but is not giving a cheap 'now we match greens' colour effect. I like this a lot.

I agree, it works very well!. Was it necesary to make an HDR tratement instead of a bit of "shadows and highligts" command?.
