The corner

This is my favourite corner in the house. Not only because it is by one of the many bookshelves, although that does play a part, but because I built everything in the corner including the lamp.
It all started when Lorraine decided that she wanted a chair in that style. When I realized how expensive a good quality one was I decided (never having built a piece of furniture) that I could learn to do that. Like most things in my life, it became a bit of an obsession. After much reading and tool buying and more than a little cursing - I think it turned out alright. Of course, now that I had a shop (well, actually a corner of the basement) full of tools I needed to find more projects to justify having spent the money. And so it goes...

I like the way you captured this cosy atmosphere and a piece of your life. Nothing can be cosier than natural wood and the feeling which this photo conveys tell us a lot of positive things about you.
The photo is technically good too.

Is that mission style? You did a fantastic job for your initial attempts!

A cosy corner indeed - love the woodwork too. Seems you're a Jack of all trades. (Now, to become a master of time.)

Well that is even more incredible due to the fact that you hadn't made anything like it before! And everything looks beautifully made too... what a talent (from someone who is utterly clueless at making things!)
