I had the D300 out in the cold (-24C (~-11F)) yesterday and, despite the assurances, was a little concerned. It worked wonderfully; my only concern was the frost buildup on the lower left from my breath as I composed shots but it does not seem any worse for wear. Battery life was also surprisingly good. I cannot say the same for my after-market wireless shutter release though - it did not survive.
