Camera Gear.JPG
Pelican case with Nikon D90, 70-200mm, 1.7X Teleconverter, 10-20mm lens, chargers, memory cards, two Canon P&S cameras, batteries, etc. This is my "personal item" and stays with me all the time.

Big Duffle Contents.JPG
As you can see....that tent takes up half of my duffle! I use an air mattress to save space and weight along with a lightweight sleeping bag and compression sack. I'll probably put both of those fishing rods in one tube to save space and weight. There is a 12 x 12 silnylon tarp in case it rains....yeah right. I'm packing a neat little Cabelas stainless steel coffee pot. Don't forget to bring your insulated coffee mug! A quality fleece jacket is definitely in order along with a set of polypro underwear. Take a knit skully as well. My shirts and pants are rolled up in what is known as a "grunt roll." I learned that term from my Marine son. It seems the Infantry Marines are taught to tightly roll there clothes and secure with rubber bands. Allegedly they stay relatively wrinkle-free and they store in your pack nicely. Hey....who am I to argue with a Marine?

Alaska Baggage.JPG
Here's a photo of the gear I'll be taking to Alaska. The big Simms duffle has most of my camping gear and clothes....nothing too expensive in it just in case it winds up in Cleveland.
The small yellow duffle is my carry-on bag. It has the high-dollar stuff that I want to hang on to. I have my underwater camera housing in there along with my Gore Tex jacket, fishing reels, a 5-weight Winston flyrod, tackle/flies, Gore Tex waders, toiletries, one change of clothes....you get the picture. If the baggage monkeys lose my big duffle, at least I'll still be able to fish! The Pelican case has some primo expensive camera gear. In case you haven't noticed...photography is a big part of my trip.
