In the US, millions of uninsured people face a bleak health care situation. In recent years, workers and retirees who have won health-care coverage through their union contracts have seen these benefits threatened, and are fighting to preserve them.

In January, 2003, GE workers staged a short symbolic strike as part of their struggle to maintain their health-care benefits. In Cleveland, as in other cities, Jobs with Justice was there to support them in their ultimately successful struggle.
