One of the perks of working at night in the middle of nowhere is that
I occasionally stumble upon subjects such as this crumbling old house.
This was 'painted' with a Petzl headtorch.

ps a question of preference; do you think the star trails add or detract
from this photo? Update: Voting concluded - the stars remain :-)

I'm glad the stars remained. They kind of look like falling rain, adding to the incredible atmosphere in this image... Oustanding!

The star trails add interest and aid the composition...good decision to leave them in! Great shot.

I was so excited about this image from the thumnail and it does not disappoint. I would not remove the stars, they add another dimension to this image making, it surreal. Absolutely love it!.. v

As is. The house is dominant and the star trails add to the feel of the long exposure night shot..Brilliant!!..BV!!!

Stars? I thought the house was travelling at warp factor 5 ;)...seriously though, leave them in! Great shot!

I wouldn't touch the stars, Steve. They are meant to last...
Another magic of yours, and although some would find it very distracting and inconvenient to work night shifts, you have found the best in that situation. You create Art.

Love this wonderful treatment!!!!!Fantastic job

Great picture Steve; the POV is very powerful and the post processing is stunning as usual. I think I would prefer to see it without the star trails though; they are not long enough to be obvious as star trails and as such are a little distracting.

And I thought it was raining.. duh!.. I like it even better knowing they are star tracks!!

Wonderful find Steve, I like it as it is and thing that the star trails add further interest to the texture which you've used on the sky. First class processing and composition. +V
