In November every year, Cambodian people celebrate Water Festival (they do it in Thailand and Laos too). In Phnom Penh hundreds of traditionnal boats representing provinces or companies are competiting during several days. Races take place on the Tonle River, in front of Royal Palace in Phnom Penh. Boats glide onto the surface of water through the power and energy of 30 to 60 men. Though I don't show the boat races and would rather focus on the huge crowd that fills Phnom Penh center streets for many days. Water Festival in November is the great time to see countryside or provincial people come visit the capital. Among the crowd, a lot of young people. Cambodian youth, hundreds and thousands, hanging around, having drinks, not always soft, discovering, dating. So many various faces and looks, all day long until late at night.
