Photos from a Peace March marking the 3 year anniversary of the war in Iraq (3/18/06; Columbus, OH), a Peace March protesting the start of the war in Iraq (1/18/03, Washington, D.C.) and the March for Women's Lives (4/25/04; Washington, D.C.).
Over one million people took part in the March for Women's Lives to voice their opposition to government attacks on women's reproductive rights and health. It was the largest march I've ever attended--definitely worth the long bus ride!!
There is no justification for this war. Organized terrorism must be defended against, but there is no preemptive activity that will stem the tide of hatred. To stop it, we must change how we are percieved. We must stop our own megalomaniacal reactions to terrorist attacks.
Men will never get it right. We either die at the hands of men, or live within a working society together. Its time we recognize the potential of women in power. Surely we men have had our chance and been proven unreliable leaders. Battlefield strategy is useless when the battlefield is not predetermined. Oh Great Warriors, play a few rounds of golf and let diplomacy spring from those who know how to keep peace.
Thank Bush for isolating us like a true dictator. I will not give my name because, in the land of the free, I will be labeled unpatriotic. We must turn this around or we will loose the spirit of the Constitution.
I have no say in the matters of a woman's body, and neither should the govt.
isn't it nice to be able to demonstrate without tanks going by with machine guns and some dude named Akeem showing up with a bomb strapped to his chest in the name of Allah? I thought so..so thank Bush.
Otherwise great gallery.
