I have had mixed luck with USB OTG adapters, some days they work OK but they seem to be very unreliable. I don't think a splitter cable will work as you intend. Have a look at this Ravpower device
- it would allow you to upload from a CF card reader to a tablet then download to an external drive. There are also other similar devices like the Kingston MobileLite which are worth a look.
hello Steve ... hope this message finds you. i found a comment of yours in an android forum, but there was no conversation thread attached to it ... but it appears as if you were answering a question i've been researching to no end. i shoot video on a dslr and have to off load files from the compact flash card in the field. for portability purposes, i've been hoping to take a small tablet with me, root it somehow (that's where you come in), get a usb splitter cable, and attach both a card reader with the card, and a portable storage drive .. and drag the files from cf card - thru the tab - and onto the 1tb drive. do you know if that's possible ? thanks -- hope this finds you, and merry christmas.
