The shortblock is all together. The flywheel and crank sensor housing will be installed when on the cherrypicker.
All openings have been covered to keep out any debris.
I install the cylinder head after the shortblock is in the chassis. I do not believe in stressing my headbolts or headgasket with the engine's weight during installation. And, installing the shortblock is easier without the head. I consider it a win-win.
The white pieces of towelling sticking up are in the headbolt holes that I will use to lift the shortblock by. As I said: all openings are covered.
