Mirages are not uncommon on Lake Ontario. In some lighting conditions like today, they appear. This is a view to the southwest from Humber Bay Park. Normally you cannot see the other side of the lake. The mirage looks as though it is about halfway out in the lake. Cool - I finally saw one with my camera in hand. This one disappeared after about 10 minutes.
