Thanks for sharing this. On a MacBook Pro 2015, the Retina screen shows all steps except the 1% on black when on auto brightness and on power. V!

The 1% are difficult to see but knowing where they are helps. The 1% black is very hard to see. The difference between the 49-51% gray is evident. If it were a picure of varied color I think it would be impossible and maybe not important.
