Jeongseon Arari Folk Villiage-Introduction included

Ararichon is a small folk village on the bank of the Joyanggang River, showcasing the various local housing styles that existed in Jeongseon and its environs. Homes of various styles, ranging from traditional tiled-roof houses to thatched roof (gulpijip) and shingled roof houses (neowajip), can be seen at this place. Rare houses such as jereupjip (hemp thatched roof houses) and doljip (stone shingle roof houses) can be spotted in this small house museum. Best of all, all the homes in Ararichon offer guest accommodation. Although initially built for display purposes, these homes, equipped with heating and cooling systems and bathrooms, lack nothing to comfortably lodge visitors. What is unique about Ararichon is that the homes have different housing styles. In upper-class tiled roof houses, guests may browse through antique calligraphy supplies. In gwiteuljip (log cabins) or neowajip, they can experience hwati, a fireplace unique to this area, used as the light source. The homes are rented as a whole house, and can be reserved in advance.
