So from Axum we hired a car and went to some churches we were sort of told would be rock cut, and I suppose by some broad definition, they are. Let's just say the scenery was far more impressive than the few, small, partially rock hewn churches up here. Ethiopia should focus more on hiking tourism rather than on selling these really pretty insignificant churches as things worth seeing. They really aren't that much.
