This, as I so frequently say, is a very holy Hindu pilgrimage site. It's on an island off the southeast coast in the Indian Ocean, near Adam's Bridge to Sri Lanka -- which is, of course, not really a bridge. The main temple here is a major pilgrimage site and it was full of people going from one well or pool to another, dropping a bucket into the water, and ritually cleansing themselves with the water. There were something like 24 sites. And a lot of wet Hindus. It was pretty dark inside and so there are not a lot of indoor pictures and photographing the gopuram was, for some reason, nearly impossible for me. I have to work on this. But the town around the temple was fun to stroll around, and I got some nice candid street shots. There was also a minor temple over by the ocean that was open air and so I got some nice detail shots and some shots of pilgrims bathing in the ocean.
