Finally got around to doing some charity work. After so many years of travel, it seemed a good thing to do. I went with a group from the university. We raised money and took it to this sort of remote, seldom visited corner of Cameroon and made grants and bought things for local people. A bag of flour, an irrigation pump, school desks, a roof for a school. It was interesting and fun, despite experiencing some of the frustrations we imagined aid workers deal with regularly.
