I'm camped on a little knoll right on top of the North Fork of the
Teanaway River. We drove over east of the mountains this evening after
work and then once I arrived at the trailhead, I threw on
my pack, and headed into the hills on foot. It was pushing 8pm by the time I left the
parking lot, and I really didn't plan on going too far this evening. This
campsite has such a lovely view, and I've set my tent so that I will be
able to catch the first glimmer of light in the morning. Just after
sunset tonight, I bounced around camp like a carefree little girl.... running up the little
tributary creek... jumping in, setting up the tripod.... having my feet
be so cold that it gave me brain freeze, then jumping out to do it
all over again! Oh, how I do love to be out here.

After dark, we crawled into the tent and tazzie snuggled down into my
sleeping bag, and she is lying here now, snoring away like a good little
French Bulldog. The dreariness of my day is slipping away even now, and by Sunday
evening, I hope to have left my worries far behind. Out here, sleeping in
the dirt, I realize how silly the cares and woes of the city really are.
