So, here's the deal. On 4th of July weekend, when I was
backpacking with Monte up the Entiat River Valley... I
walked up to an idyllic little spot on the upper Entiat River..
complete with banks brimming with leftover snowfall from the winter.
I was so overcome with the scene that I just flopped myself down on
my belly at the river bank and began shooting photographs, with little
thought for anything else...
When I was finally satisfied with my shots of the locale, I got up and
prepared to hike on, and discovered that my macro lens was missing from
its little pouch on my hip belt. Uh oh... Well, on closer inspection,
my beloved 60mm f2.8 macro lens could be seen bobbing up and down in the
river... at times completely immersed. I thought it was a gonner for sure.
Well, a week and a half later.... it has completely dried out, and it works!!!!
It is a little macro miracle!
