I just saw one of these in Boston near the Broadway Bridge! Never expected to see a caterpillar there!

I took a caterpillar that looks like this off a leaf of my fuchsia plant which was apparently lunch ,had been breakfast and was likely to be dinner for this fluffy white caterpillar. A few days ago I discovered little black bumps and some white sticky webby materiel on my fuchsia plant, and some droopy and some dried leaves. A part of my plant was sick. After i discovered this caterpillar munching on one of this plant's leaves, i knocked the caterpillar off and put it under a plastic container, with some leaves so it can continue to pig out while i figure out what kind of caterpillar it is and if it's the reason my fuchsia plant is suffering. Any thoughts ,suggestions?

Found this today in a seeded wildflower patch in the back of our company parking lot. It was wooley like this and pure white. Is this the only white one in Massachusetts?
