Collected September 14th in Harvard MA, Oxbow area, from 25ft understory elm. This posture is taken up when the animal is stimulated from a distance - for example, clapping from over ten feet away or blowing gently on the animal. When more directly afronted it will abandon this posture and rear up on its hind prolegs instead.
