I found one of these in my back yard in Berlin, except it was prominently yellow but the markings on the back were very distinctive.

Sam, This is the caterpillar that I saw over the summer. I now realize that my description to you was inaccurate. (I warned you about that), but I suppose I was close. I don't remember the body of the caterpillar being furry though, but looking at the picture does jog my memory.
Great pictures!! My kids love the beautiful caterpillars.
