Synchlora aerata (Camouflaged Looper)

Blue Hills, Milton MA

Collected from a roadside patch of gone-by Goldenrod in the Blue hills, Milton MA 10/17/2008. This individual is still small - an earlier instar. It has covered itself with the dried up remains of solidago petals. Image is part of a triptic showing the caterpillar reveal itself.
