We found one in our sink. It is in the 20's outside so I figure it is too cold to put it back outside. What can I do with it. What kind of plant does it eat and can I put it on a branch of the plant so it can spin its cocoon and pupate.

Is there a time of year when they lose the orange midsection? I found a two inch long, fat, furry millipede in my pantry last night (rescued it and put it outside), but it was a deep, rich dark uniform brown color. I would like to know what it is and whether it is likely to have friends who found their way into my pantry as well! Thank you.
