I'm a fellow SP (73-87) and NKP SP, assigned from 03/75 to 10/75 rode the last bus out the gate. I recently attend my 2nd NKP reunion at Fort Walton Beach and have been reconnecting with multiple SP's during the past reunions. I've volunteered to make a presentation during our next reunion and I’m trying to collect as much information as I can on the security operations conducted throughout the operational period of NKP from 62-75. But, I’m running into a wall when it comes to historical information. I’ve with USAF Historical Research and their all about FOIA’s and paying for information. Any historical information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
I was going to start with the 1st security functions ever recorded around the base but no luck. I’ve reached out to VSPA, NKP Thailand, SP’s past and current in an attempt to gather pictures, stories and information on our times at NKP.
I worked mids during the Mayaguez and was part of the recovery operations. Thank you for any assistance you may share/provide, I’m thinking my presentation will cover approximately 90 minutes long and I plan on setting up a display as well.
