These murals are public art, that all can view.
Most of the murals are in Mid Town and Downtown
Sacramento. There are other public
murals located through out the County.
I'm even looking inside both public buildings,
and private business, with their permission.

I am horrified by the lack of diversity in these murals. Also, I happen to know for a fact that the paints used were not produced in green manufacturing facilities. And I though California was progressive.

Thank you for all these images.We live in Cape Town , South Africa.On Monday ( 22.11.2010 ) we are on our way to Borneo , Taiwan and then finally Sacramento. Even though we have been to The US many times we have never been to Sacramento. Seeing your pictures we will most certainly look at these Murals using our GPS as you fortunately provided addresses. Can't wait to see them in natura.

hi - just for the record the ceramic tile murals on pg 15 "weave", the la Sierra Mosaics on 40 and the southside pool on 40/41 ceramic tile pieces were all crated by 'The Mural" Project", a DDSO ( developmental disabilities service Organization) program which trains adult artists with developmental disabilities in the mural-making process. We started in 1999 and have installed over 17 large-scale ceramic murals in the sacramento region. We are partially funded by The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, and have received a few NEA grants as well. A site bursting with images, mostly tile, but some painted: Sal's Tacos, just over the Jiboom Street bridge in Broderick. Thanks for the ones already documented.

Wonderful documentation of real treasures. You have a calling! Smythe Academy at 2781 Northgate Blvd. has a mural facing the blvd Juanishi Orosco with help from Smythe students and another mural celebrating reading on the side of the cafeteria facing the patio. Check them out. Also The Loaves and Fishes complex has some wonderful work.

Wow. Beautiful job! Have you seen the one on the sheriffs parking garage, between 7th and 8th street on F? Aquamarine mermaids and 3D pics of people who lived in the neighborhood during the time it was done. Check it out.
