The famous twin lead attack that is Wishbone Ash's trademark has never sounded better as the band prepares for a busy touring schedule in 2004, beginning with Germany, the US and the UK. Last year saw the band revisiting its fans in Europe, the UK and the US and making a successful venture into Brazil to promote "Bona Fide," the latest CD. In addition, Wishbone Ash released "Almighty Blues," a DVD that gives the viewer a "bands-eye view" of touring, from the dressing rooms to the festival stages of Europe and the UK.

Three decades have yielded much history and many albums, from the band's eponymous first release to "Bona Fide." Back in the '70s, founding members Powell and Ted Turner had the distinction of making Rolling Stone magazine's Top 20 Guitarists of All Time. Renowned as the pioneers of a melodic twin-lead guitar style that has influenced many bands, such as Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden, Wishbone Ash holds a seminal place in the genre of Classic Rock.Wishbone Ash - two words put together by Martin Turner from two separate lists of potential names the band had compiled.

Wishbone Ash garnered early notice for a unique blend of blues, jazz and English folk, with the British press crowning them "Brightest New Hope" and "Best New Band" in 1972. Throughout the years, many notable musicians have appeared in the band's ranks, including Asia's John Wetton, Trevor Bolder from Uriah Heep and Laurie Wisefield, who was later to be the featured guitarist for Joe Cocker as well as Tina Turner.

Globetrotters since the early days of stadium rock, Wishbone Ash shows no sign of slowing down. Going strong for more than 30 years, the band has evolved and continually created new work, all the while celebrating its past and keeping in touch with its many fans throughout the world. ~ wishboneash.com
