Berlin Airlift Memorial

Gatow was one of the airports allied forces used in the airlift operations during the Berlin Blockade in 1948. This DC3 stands in for the hundreds of planes making some 200,000 flights within eleven months. The markings beneath the plane form a diagram showing the three air corridors into Berlin

Possibly this may be of interest for you. In RAAF service that airframe was A65-69.
