What have we here??? This is a wide field of the Southern part of the Milkyway Galaxy. A place I like to call home:-)

In this image, there are several common and familiar items. In the lower right third of the photography, you will see the red glow of M8, also called the Lagoon Nebulae. Just above this is M20, or the Trifid Nebulae. M20 is characterized by its red bottom and blue top.

To the far left near the bottom, there is a large Globular cluster, M22.

Working toward the top, there is the M17, the Omega Nebulae [also called the Swan Nebulae] (about 1/5 from the top on the left) and just above this is the Star Queen (M16) Nebulae.

M24 is a loose collection of stars in Sagittarius with a reddish glow and just below and to the right of M17.
