CAPITALISM

Just a 15 minute drive from my home is the historic Union Church, pictured here.
Despite my proximity to it, I've never visited before.
Today, a gorgeous spring day here in the northeast, seemed a good opportunity to check it out.
The Church draws visitors from all over because of the stained glass windows made by Matisse and Chagall.
As I walked inside I was greeted by a serviceably friendly woman who looked at my camera
and informed me that photography was not allowed inside the church.
She then told me that I could walk around the small church but it would cost me $5.
"But if you have a bank of america card, you and one of your friends can get in for free."
I looked over at my two friends.
Without skipping a beat she added: "So only one of you would have to pay the five dollars"
We all politely thanked her and bowed back out the door.

From the outside it looks like a beautiful place.
I wasn't so much disturbed by the no photo rule or even the $5
it was more the fact that a bank of america card would magically gain me access.

Nice shot-- sad commentary.

what a strange arrangement. if you're attending a service of worship do you still have to pay?

Did the five dollars at least come with sermon? The B of A thing is just absurd :^O

That is quite a story... the BA Card requirement is egregious. This shot borders on being an abastract... I'm impressed w/your eye and the comp.
