I found this young hooded crow in the grass, close to the several tall trees. I was getting closer and closer and suddenly I had to repel a spoiling air attack of the parents. Quite an experience :)
Young Hooded crow, sometimes called Hoodiecrow. Also known locally as Scotch Crow, Danish Crow, and Grey Crow, Wrona siwa (Corvus cornix). It is so similar in morphology and habits to the Carrion Crow (Corvus corone) that for many years they were considered to be merely geographical races of one species. However, since 2002, the Hooded Crow has been elevated to full species status after closer observation; the hybridisation was less than expected and hybrids had decreased vigour.
