Pass Christian is a scenic community on the western end of Harrison County, fronted by the Gulf to the south, the Bay of St. Louis to the west and a Bayou on the north. They were hit especially hard as most of the city was inundated by the tidal surge.

very powerful images of the destruction of Katrina and the disruption of thousands of live in this area. These images are not on the national news only in section where they want to highlight for the moment. Your images for all of us to view and understand the true destruction. Thanks

Steve: Thank you for posting the pictures of the Mississippi coast. I am a former resident of Pass Christian and my best friend lives in Gulfport. Their home was one of few in their area that survived. They rode the storm out. Only recently have I seen pictures of the street I lived on in the Pass (e. 2nd st). Totally heartbreaking. Thanks for making this real for the rest of the United States. I wish others would see these so that people are aware of the devastation in Mississippi. Thanks again. Laura Wendt, Texas
Walking through a disaster zone is a surreal experience
and it's hard to comprehend exactly what the actual event
must have been like when the sun is shining and the air
is still.
Nice documentative work Steve.
