Cheltenham Badlands, Ontario

A zillion-year-old river delta created this expanse of red clay, lined with white clay, showing different eras of development. We saw this on New Year's Day in southern Ontario (freakishly warm, and NO snow). The erosion of the area is a constant problem, and they will likely close it off to hikers in the near future, to preserve the formations. I love that Blaire made herself into a giant shadow-puppet in the strong sunlight.
