Starting Up Wanda's Mountain 08_21_06.jpg

At least once each summer Wanda hikes to the top of the mountain behind our house. Today is that day. I hiked with her and her friends for the first little bit; but, my old knees won't handle this steep rocky trail. They should reach the top of the mountain around noon.

I am sure my old knees wouldent mind if it was all about chasing the lovely Wanda up the steep rocky trail

Wanda,
Your comments about the trail made me think that's kinda like life isn't it?
What mysteries and adventures await. One thing I enjoy and something
so readily seen in the way you and Bill live your lives is you enjoy almost everything. Your pictures, your adventures, your trips, sometimes your fears and of course how you enjoy each other is ispiring to say the least.. I hope you had a good day there on your mountain :) ! Oh and Bill is it possible to ride a horse or a 4-wheeler up that mountain. I am sorry about knees.

I agree with you Wanda about the mystery of "Road Not Taken". Of course this is a trail you have been up before. I'll bet with the great shape you are in from the bicycling that this year the trip seemed esier. Still wish I could make that climb with you. Enjoy!

Jim,

Way to make Me blush with that last comment! (laffin) . . . how about instead of the lingerie portion of the triatholon, we make it "best bed head hair do"? So THAT's what My hair looks like from the back when I have slept on it! (laffin) Oh well, when I am up in the mountains, looking good is not at the top of My list.

What I like about this image is how the trail disappears into the darkness ahead. Leaves you wondering what mysteries and adventures await on the trail that leads to the top. That is what always keeps Me going when I am out hiking. . . . I always wanna see what's around the next bend.

Wanda needs to create some new kind of Triathlon that includes biking, mountain climbing, and hmmm? looking good in lingerie? She'd win for sure.

Terrific shot. Great light, and the curved path makes it interesting.

Really pretty shot Bill. I like the blurred effect, it isolates her nicely.

I added just a little Gaussian Blur to the leaves above her head. They are pretty close to the focus distance and I found them a little distracting when sharply in focus. The light is mostly pre-sunrise shadow in the bottom of the canyon. It really was about perfect.

GREAT shot, Bill. Did you add the soft focus effect in PhotoShop or is that just the natural bokeh in the leaves above Wanda's head? Great lighting...nice soft light that looks to be either shadow or cloudy light..can't ask for much more.
